Salesforce Surveys

It’s been a while I had wrote the last post. Now this time it’s about Salesforce Survey. The number of features are growing day by day in salesforce. Assuming no other competitor will be able to match that for some time. Salesforce Survey is one of such feature. I remember the old days when we had to code the survey piece entirely for clients or have setup other survey apps such as Survey Monkey for them. And now they are almost gone. These kind of apps might loose some money ๐Ÿ™‚ I mean why client would pay others for Survey software and integrate it with salesforce, when they can simply use Salesforce Survey.

The Feature:Salesforce Survey

Setup

1. To be able to use Salesforce Survey you will have to enable community and activate it.

2. Create a permission set where the survey related features can be enabled. (This is not required but I personally liked this way.) You can directly assign the create survey permission on profile as well.

3. Create Survey and publish them

Enable survey and select the community which is active.survey

If the permission set is already assigned to the logged in user search for the Survey tab. Once there, click on New survey and you will see a survey builder page:

Conslusion:

It seems gradually you will not have to install any appexchange package ๐Ÿ™‚ as salesforce is bringing all these features in-house. Good for Salesforce customers, but may not be that good for ISV partners who build these kind of applications. At least they will have to keep it free.

Keep learning and sharing…
