Getresponse
Use the above link and fill the form to signup for a free account. Once you are logged in you will see a screen like the below
Click on the hamburger icon and click on Integrations and API
In the list of available options select CRM and you should see Salesforce in the list.
Click on Salesforce and click on Connect
Select production (use your developer account) or connect to sandbox. Once you are on the oAuth screen , click allow to authorize the access. If you are not already logged in to salesforce , then you will have to provide your credentials and then you get the oAuth screen to proceed and authorize.
Configure the integration
Once the authentication works fine you will be presented with the below screen. You can select the default list that was created for you (In this case there will be a default list created already when you register for the getresponse account). You can mention if you want to import the records from Salesforce Lead or Contact. After any one of the object selected, it will show a list of leadsource to select from. You can select one or more. Fill out the form as per your options and proceed to next step.
Field Mapping
Next step is to assign the field mappings. At this page you will see all the salesforce fields you have. You will also have options to ignore a field or if you think there is no appropriate field in getresponse, then you can create a custom field as well.
You may not want to map all the fields from Salesforce. In that case just select “Skip columns marked with “?” ” and move ahead. This will show you a message, that the import might take some time. You can also see the status of the progress. Once the sync is finished you can see the imported leads or contacts in getresponse.
Click on the list and you can see all the contacts that are in this list.
Email Marketing
Now that we have the contacts imported from Salesforce , let’s send a emails to them as a news letter.
Go to the hamburger icon again and select email marketing:
- Click create news letter.
- Fill up the name of the list, this will be for internal purpose . so, don’t worry give any name
- Ensure from and to email addresses are filled in
- Add a subject for the email, that will be visible in users inbox
- Click on “Add Recipient” and select the list you want to target
- As any other email software, getresponse also has a lot of HTML templates prebuilt for you. You can also create your own. (NOTE: Getresponse does a spam check as well for you. )
- At this point you can select if you want to track the clicks . I mean why someone will send emails without tracking … just saying.
- Send immediately or you can schedule the email out for some other time as well.
- Hit send button and you are done
- Now you can go back to the contacts and see the activity they might have done
And all these information will flow back to salesforce periodically.
